After the kidney donation I wanted to prove to myself that I can do tough things and that you can go through a major surgery, bounce back and be better than ever. I've been training for the past 5 months for Hyrox and this past Saturday I competed in my first hyrox women's doubles!!

When me and my partner Tish started we were HYPED! Our double shot of espresso hit us and we SPRINTED to our first station.. Welp that was a big no-no we were gassed. We saw stars, had bad abdominal cramps and blacked out for the first 3 stations. I was looking for the exit sign, I was questioning myself.. "why the hell did I sign up for this?!" "am I going to survive?" "what will our time be?!"

We had an electrolyte gel while we were running and it kind of brought us back to life. We ran to get water and got to our 4th station.. burpee broad jump. Our least favorite exercise. Turns out.. that was the moment we got it together and realized this wasn't too bad! It was smooth sailing and we completed our first hyrox!!!

I can't even describe the emotions you go through... you have to experience it yourself! This was huge learning curve and I'm totally itching to do more! Now that we know what to expect I want to get better! So let's see which ones I do next!!

And if you're wondering.. what is she talking about? I challenge you to get out of your comfort zone and try something new! Tennis, golfing, swimming, running, knitting!! Life is too short to not try new things!
