How to Make Pickled Onions

fermentation fitness and health howto pickledonions probiotics recipes Oct 04, 2023

If you're like me and my husband, we LOVE pickled onions. We've always said we would do it and I finally decided to make the move.

I'm not sure why it took me this LONG to make them because they're super easy and can last up to 2 weeks in your refrigerator!

Pickled onions contain high amounts of good probiotics and digestive enzymes. They are said to be good for your gut health because they contain beneficial and healthy bacteria strains. Note: they are great to consume in moderation.

Ingredients:

2 small red onions

2 cups white vinegar

2 cups water

1/3 cup cane sugar

2 tbsp sea salt

Directions:

Thinly slice the onions and put them in each jar

Heat the vinegar, water, sugar and salt in a medium saucepan over medium heat. Stir until sugar & salt is dissolved.

Pour over onions.

Set aside to room temp then store onions in fridge

Keep in the fridge for up to 2 weeks.

It's that easy, ENJOY!
